Steps to follow to offer a dignified farewell
Obtaining the Medical Death Certificate (CMD)
This document is issued by the physician who examines the body of the loved one. It specifies the details regarding organ donation in the event that the loved one was a donor.
Obtaining a Death Certificate from the Civil Registry
Within 24 hours of the death, family members must register the death in the Civil Registry of the municipality where the loved one was originally from, providing the CMD using the free form provided by the Registry. Grupo Valle de los Ángeles can help you with this process or, if you prefer, you can do it yourself.
Obtaining the burial or cremation license from the Civil Registry.
Once the death has been registered, you can apply for a burial permit to bury or cremate your loved one. Grupo Valle de los Ángeles can help you with this process, or if you prefer, you can do it yourself.
Certificate of last will and testament
This document certifies whether it was the loved one's wish to be cremated. If the family wishes to have the body cremated, they must clearly express this to the attending physician so that it can be noted on the Medical Death Certificate.
Destination and time of the funeral service
Transfer of the body from the place of death to the funeral home. The time and chapel for the ceremony will be arranged.
Choice of coffin and/or urn
We will guide you in choosing the coffin that will hold and protect your loved one. In the case of burial, we will advise you on the different types of urns available, as well as the final resting place for the ashes.
Chapels and Ceremonies
Our Shift Managers will advise you on choosing a chapel to say goodbye to your loved one. Note: In all cases, the wake is held in a coffin. If cremation was chosen for your loved one, the funeral services include a coffin on loan.
Choice of Tributes
Say goodbye to your loved one with a solemn tribute that allows you to honor their memory and give them a dignified farewell with one of our personalized services.
Conditioning of the Beloved
At Valle de los Ángeles, the most natural image of your loved one will be preserved through the cosmetic preparation process. If necessary, a recommendation will be made to carry out the embalming process.
Accompaniment to the cemetery
We provide transportation to transfer your loved one to the funeral park or cemetery within the metropolitan area.
Post-Service and Support Unit for Loss and Grief
Grupo Valle de los Ángeles will continue to offer support, advice, and service after the funeral service has ended. Having emotional support in times of crisis will help the bereaved feel more at ease and accompanied. For this reason, we offer the services of our Loss and Grief Support Unit, headed by our thanatologist Cristina Guiza, at no cost. She will personally contact the person in charge of the service and work with the bereaved to determine the form and schedule in which they prefer to receive this valuable support.
